Next time you are in Red Lobster....know a black man is running things!

Jackie O followed the plan of first marrying for love and then for money.....now, I could say doing both would be ideal, and here is a good candidate...Clarence Otis Jr.. Who? Well, I watched this show called CEO chat and they had Mr. Otis on who is the CEO of the Darden Restaurant Group which owns among others, Red Lobster & The Olive Garden. Granted, these are two restaurants that I avoid like the plague....but after listening to the show, I was quite enchanted by Mr. Otis. He hails from Watts and after working his way to Stanford law school, he made the bold move of switching careers and took an entry level job in corporate finance. Fast forward to 2005 when he was named CEO of Darden Group making him one of the most powerful and highest paid Black men in corporate America. And here is the clincher, when they asked him his favorite novel, he said Beloved by Tony Morrison......swoon. I cant tell you how a man can do a 360 in my mind if he cites some good Morrison. Anyway, despite a 20+ age difference, and a pesky wedding ring, isn't it good to know there are some Black corporate titans for the taking?
