The Olsens and the Chipmunk Pout

Now Sloane, you know I try to ignore the Olsens as much as possible, but my girl Korin just emailed and is being driven up the wall by this awful pout that these girls have permanently spread across their faces. To me the pout typifies my issues with the Olsens. They are like the Hollywood versions of the L.E.S/BK hipster scene to me. At the heart of the hipster movement are these mid western kids who migrated to New York City with a dream of being avant garde, edgy, urbanites. In the absence of actual edginess or urbanity, they have created an outward image to compensate for the banality of their actual upbringing.

And here we have the Olsens; Hollywood hipsters. This is the homeless chic look, the scraggly hair, the pout that makes them look like famished chipmunks in search of nuts. They want you to think they have suffered for their "art", they are like totally on the pulse of edgy. But at the center of all this pseudo avant garde-ism are two very wealthy girls who have never struggled or scraped by, who have been privileged and pampered and protected since they were infants on the set of Full House. But, a Beverly Hills package is just so boring, so Paris Hilton, right?

And P.S. I will say that they have made some improvements, I actually liked their looks for the CFDAs...perhaps they are growing into their true calling - well dressed multi-millionaires.
