Rasta Beauty Queen

C,
It sounds like an oxymoron, but yes, Rastas can be beauty queens too. Last month, for the first time ever Jamaica crowned it's first Rastafarian beauty queen. Now I know that you think the whole beauty queen thing is outdated (which it is) but I'll have you know that in the Caribbean winning a beauty pageant is considered to be very prestigious.

Well Zahra Redwood heads off to Mexico City in a few days for the annual pageant, and so before she left the island she unveiled her wardrobe to the press.
Ms. Redwood will be truly representing Rasta as her national costume is a long red, green and gold cape with a lion emblazoned on the back.
We will have to watch the pageant on May 28th on NBC.
