I know, I know: What the hell happened to me? I said I was taking a month off and low and behold it turned into 3 or 4...I don't know, I've lost count. What can I say, no matter how hard I try I just can not out run CP time. You know we Afrikans work on a circular clock! Anyway, what is a few months absence between friends? So what the haps? There is no denying it that at laceglovesoff we have an obsession with the Beckham's. My obsession changes from day to day as sometimes I love Posh and then there are other times when I find myself questioning her fashion judgement. The Beckham's have arrived stateside and was able to catch VB's "Coming to America" special today on YouTube (I was on a plane last night and missed the actual broadcast). After watching the show, I must tell you Chase and fellow readers that VB definitely has a sense of humor and she is a diva to no end. She obviously realizes the pull of her celebrity and she has no problem making fun of it. I think that she has the right attitude cause if you are going to have the pappo's in your life constantly then you may as well make the most of it.

Miami was great but now I am back in NYC dreaming of the beach. I think I am officially "over" living in this concrete jungle. How is the island paradise? What have you guys been up to? Well I am here trying to hold down the blogging until you get sight of a computer. I saw this pic. of Katie Holmes earlier and it got me thinking that the girl has such a bad rep. for being married to Tom Cruise. When Katie cut her hair a few weeks back there were hardly any blogs out there that did not have a mean comment or two about her new look when in fact I found it refreshing. Not that she is a fashionista or anything, but I will say Katie should get more credit for her style than say Angelina Jolie, who in my mind always looks the damn same. So today is my celebrate Katie day- here she is at the "Hairspray" premiere in NYC without crazy Tom, looking very cute in her LBD on a hot NYC summer night.

On Second thought...

You know now that I think about it, seeing Tameka undressed makes me look at Usher quite differently. Rather than opting for the ordinary trophy wife, he is with a real woman. Doesn't the idea that his ego is not connected with the "street value" of his wife mean something? Let's be real people, a dark brown skinned, 38 year old, black woman with three kids and stretch marks isn't exactly a saught after prize these days. But to Usher, she is gold...I appreciate that.

Here I go again writing about Posh, but I can't help it. So here she is with the family in tow en route to L.A. Is this how VB dresses to go on a 13 hour flight from London to L.A.? Most people like to dress comfy when they travel. You mean to tell me Posh was hanging out in that dress and heels for the 13 hour flight or did she change into something a little more comfy on the plane? If she did change it just goes to show how caught up she is in her image and this whole celebrity b.s. If she didn't those little scrawny legs must have been cold.
Btw, if Posh and Becks are sooo rich why do they still fly commercial?

Where is Brangelina?

Sloane have you been wondering where the Brangelinas are lately??? Just weeks ago it was almost daily pics of the Benetton family, "coincidentally" around the time they needed to promote A Mighty Heart. Now that the product push is over, they slip into the background and the photos start to dry up. I think this just proves my point about celebrities and paparazzi mayhem. Celebrities FOR SURE have a certain amount of control over when they are photographed. Am I saying that the razzy photos of them are staged? No, I think they are definitely followed and accosted, but they clearly know how to live life under the radar when they want. So don't feel so bad for these celebs being followed by cameras, if the King and Queen of hollywood can go without being photographed, I certainly think all these other Hollywood plebeians can get along just fine.

You know I am at a loss right now. On the one hand there is something rather art-house about this photo of Tameka Foster with her saggy, stretch mark ridden, child bearing stomach...like a somewhat subversive look at the scars of motherhood. Then on the other I am thinking this is a photoshoot for Essence, they don't do art house...did she think this was sexy? The simple fact that she thought this was a good look..that it was alluring in some way...and bitch is a stylist!!!!!

I have never been a fan of Liv Tyler cause most times her style is just off, but I saw this picture of her and my immediate thought was "cute." Okay, maybe she is a little off stylewise (it is still summer, not quite fall) but she can be excused as this pic was taken in dreary London on what probably was a rainy day. What I love the most about this look is the use of color- brown, navy and grey with a touch of fire engine red lipstick. I want a poncho for the fall :) Now here I go getting excited about fall clothes when I am still so into my summer wardrobe.

Well, well, well...it is official Sloane, Diddy and Kim Porter have ended their relationship. Remember this picture from a while back? Diddy out shopping with Kim in L.A. and then an hour later making out with a blond in a parking lot. Yea, I know - a damn shame. But, let's be real does this have anything to do with Kim or is Diddy that guy that NO WOMAN could make faithful? Please, please let me know what you thought of the NAACP's funeral for the "N" word which was held in Detroit yesterday. Was it really necessary to have a coffin and a ceremony? In 1944 they had a funeral for Jim Crow, so maybe I am just being my usual harsh self, thing is, I can think of so many other things to do with my day than to attend a funeral for a word that is not even referred to by it's name in polite company.

Don't Always Believe the Hype!

When I saw this picture I knew that I just had to blog about it. We all know that Mariah struggles with her weight; maybe she is happy with her weight, but at the same time Hollywood does not cut her much slack for not being stick thin. If I were to guesstimate I would say Mariah weighs about 150-160 lbs. and knowing this, when I saw her picture I immediately looked at her legs in search of some cellulite and alas, there was NONE! Neither a bump nor a ripple! How fake are these magazines that keep airbrushing celebrities? And everyone is now turning around and questioning why Janet Jackson has "suddenly" gained all this weight. Maybe she has packed on a few pounds, just a few, but for the record let it be known that I never bought into the hype of that US Weekly with her on the cover in a bikini. It was straight airbrush. Really, you want me to be convinced that Mariah does not have cellulite?

Foxxy Brown missing?

As a faithful NY Post reader, Sloane, I am sure that you read last week's reports that Foxxy was missing over the weekend. **Snore**......I really am over this chick. It truly seems that Inga's demons have taken the best of her, cause as you can see by this pic, girl is not looking too hot anymore. That tired ass weave looks about three years old...and to say the least she has been hitting the chicken wings and french fries a little too hard. It's hard to say, but I think Foxxy's will be a sad story. She is - let's not forget - a former child star. And this is what makes her as crazy as she is...sleeping with Jay-Z and countless other industry dudes from the age of fourteen....abusing E to the point that she was gang rapped at 17...these are all things in the memoirs of Fox Boogie. Now add to that the episode from a couple weeks back of her getting jacked up for her Louis, her weave, and her hearing aid in the projects by some hoe's that her pimp boyfriend called on her when she tried to break-up with him....Sigh....and here she is over the weekend with her ex, Spragga Benz. So as you can tell, she was found...and at the Urban Music Awards no less...really sad.

Janet, Please Stay This Way

Sigh, you know I really do worry for my Janet Jackson. The woman has gone from a size 16 to a size 6 and now to a size 10ish all within the short span of a year. That can not be healthy. I am just getting flashbacks to my dear dear Luther Vandross. Granted, Janet works out hard and looks to me to be in great shape at all her various body sizes, but really how much can her heart take of this??? This has been like 20 years of total yo-yo dieting and if you remember that scandal she had a few years back - Janet also likes the diet pills, a lot. Remember she had her maid fill diet pill perscriptions under her name? Anyway, I am just concerned. I would honestly rather Janet retire and keep to a healthy, natural weight rather than torture herself in another 6 months for some dud "comeback" album.

P.S. Can we also put a collective hex on Justin Timberlake for ruining my Janet's career prospects??? I LOATHE HIM.
